Biography
Give It To ’Em, FLORABELLE! is a Missoula, Montana–based rock-n-soul super band known for electrifying performances, dramatic sound, and a spirit that turns every show into a celebration.
The band is led by singer, songwriter, and creative director Cara Schulz, whose powerhouse vocals and theatrical stage presence pull audiences straight into the heart of the music. Schulz began performing jazz standards at a young age before eventually turning to songwriting and developing a sound that blends jazz roots, country storytelling, soul grooves, and the wild-west spirit of the Northern Rockies.
The band’s name has a story of its own. It comes from the 1938 Shirley Temple film Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, where the line “Give it to ’em, Florabelle!” is shouted to encourage a young girl before her singing audition for a radio show. Growing up, the phrase became an inside joke between Cara and her mother, a devoted jazz singer. Before Cara would walk on stage, her mom would cheer her on with the same spirited send-off:
“Give it to ’em, Florabelle!”
What began as a playful backstage tradition eventually became the name of the band. Over time, the motto formed a "give it all you got" approach to their performances.
After returning home to Montana in 2023, Schulz set out to build something bigger than just another local band. Determined to put Montana on the map, she gathered some of the region’s finest musicians to create a full musical experience. Now known across the Northwest as “Montana's favorite super band,” Give It To ’Em, FLORABELLE! delivers high-energy shows filled with dynamic musicianship, bold arrangements, and contagious joy.
Expect surprise guests, crowd interaction, dancing, laughter, and the kind of energy that turns a crowd into a family. The band’s unofficial motto, “One for all, and all for the band,” reflects their mission to spread connection, humor, and inclusivity wherever they play.
